The product vocabulary and mental models behind the Time Seventeen protocol.

Draft v0.1 — design contract, not yet a live service

This documentation set defines a proposed Time Seventeen protocol for review and implementation planning. https://api.t17.capital is the approved and reserved REST origin, but neither that origin nor any documented endpoint is claimed to be live. The WebSocket origin remains unspecified. Credentials, chain IDs, contract addresses, rate limits, and SLAs remain unapproved; IDs, prices, and timestamps shown throughout are illustrative, not real production data.

The Concepts section explains how to reason about Time Seventeen before working with API details. Time Seventeen is a packaging and benchmark layer over prediction markets — it discovers, normalizes, weights, and rates markets, and separately assesses the real-world severity of the events those markets track. It is not itself a prediction market, and this documentation does not claim the packaged product is a registered ETF, security, catastrophe bond, or regulated benchmark.

Core topics

  • Product Model — the Index -> Index Version -> Constituents -> Markets -> Outcomes hierarchy and venue mappings.
  • Signal Index — what an Index represents as a shared, auditable benchmark.
  • Index Lifecycle — publication, rebalance, suspension, degradation, correction, and point-in-time reproducibility.
  • Pricing — how source, market, and index-level prices are observed, aggregated, and published.
  • Market Coverage — venue, instrument, outcome, resolution, and data-quality coverage dimensions.
  • Market Ratings — the independent MR1–MR5/NR market-quality scale.
  • Severity — the independent SEV-0–SEV-5/UNKNOWN real-world impact scale.
  • Trading Lifecycle — BUY/SELL, maker/taker, and the order/fill/position/settlement separation.
  • Glossary — authoritative term and resource definitions.

Two independent assessment models

Time Seventeen deliberately keeps Market Rating and Severity Assessment as fully separate resources, methodologies, histories, and stream topics:

Market RatingSeverity Assessment
MeasuresQuality and integrity of a tradable marketReal-world impact of an event
ScaleMR1–MR5, NRSEV-0–SEV-5, UNKNOWN
Attaches toMarketEvent (or an independently calculated Severity Index)
Derived from the other?NoNo

Neither resource is nested inside, derived from, or usable as a substitute for the other. See Market Ratings and Severity for full detail.
