Time Seventeen Documentation
Draft v0.1 documentation for the Time Seventeen prediction-index and trading protocol.
Welcome to the Time Seventeen documentation. This space is the source of truth for the product model, the developer-facing protocol, and the current implementation status of Time Seventeen.
Draft v0.1 — design contract, not yet a live service
This documentation set defines a proposed Time Seventeen protocol for review and implementation planning. https://api.t17.capital is the approved and reserved REST origin, but neither that origin nor any documented endpoint is claimed to be live. The WebSocket origin remains unspecified. Credentials, chain IDs, contract addresses, rate limits, and SLAs remain unapproved; IDs, prices, and timestamps shown throughout are illustrative, not real production data.
What Time Seventeen is
Time Seventeen packages prediction markets into indexes and independently assesses market quality and real-world event severity. Reading it is closer to reading an index/benchmark provider and an exchange integration guide than a single product page: it defines how a packaging and benchmark layer sits above underlying prediction markets, similar in spirit to how an ETF basket, a catastrophe-bond exposure, or a war/conflict index is described — without claiming to be a registered fund, security, or regulated benchmark.

Choose your path
- Conceptual readers — start with Concepts for the product model, index lifecycle, pricing, ratings, severity, and trading vocabulary before touching any endpoint.
- Market-data integrators — read Getting Started → Market data workflow, then API Reference → Indexes, Markets, and Prices.
- Rating/severity consumers — read Market Ratings and Severity in Concepts, then API Reference → Ratings and Severity. These are two independent resources; neither is derived from the other.
- Traders — read Getting Started → Trading workflow, then API Reference → Authentication, Orders, Fills, Positions, and Settlement.
What you will find here
- Getting Started — a safe Draft v0.1 quickstart, authentication preparation, and worked market-data/trading walkthroughs that never contact a real host.
- Concepts — the product vocabulary: index hierarchy, pricing, market coverage, market ratings, severity, and trading lifecycle.
- API Reference — the complete Draft v0.1 REST and WebSocket contract: conventions, every endpoint family, and the error model.
Status language used throughout
| Label | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Draft v0.1 | Proposed Time Seventeen protocol behavior; subject to breaking change before implementation |
| Normative | MUST / SHOULD / MAY language that clients and servers implementing this draft are expected to follow |
| Illustrative | Example IDs, prices, timestamps, and payload values only — not real data |
| Production configuration | Required before launch but deliberately unspecified here (hosts, chain IDs, contract addresses, quotas, fees, SLAs) |
